After a long, and difficult fight for her life, it is with a deep grief and sadness, that we announce the passing of Paige Anny Eiko Nagata, who left our family November 18th, 2018, and now forever lives with the Lord. Our wonderful Paige was a shining, and loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and friend. She had hopes of finishing her post-secondary education, and then to go forth and create positive change in the world. She believed in family, justice, and in the mission to reach communities globally, sharing the gospel of Jesus.

After having spent a short 19 years with us, she will always be remembered for her love and care, her strength and perseverance, a maturity beyond her years, and keen spirit to learn and explore. She will forever be in the hearts of her mother Marlene, her siblings Brooke, Max, Teresa and Stephan, her niece and nephews Ava, Fabian, Ethan, and all those to come, her boyfriend Trevor, and her friends. We warmly would like to invite anyone who would like to celebrate Paige to attend her Celebration of Life, which will take place at 4:30 PM on Sunday, December 2nd, 2018, at Church in the Valley, 23589 Old Yale Road, Langley BC. To honour Paige and who she was, warmly coloured attire is preferred.

On November 4, my sister Paige had a serious car accident which has left her with life threatening injuries in the ICU. She is currently on life support. She was a passenger in the back seat when a dangerous driver travelling at high speed collided with the vehicle head on. I am starting this campaign to ensure that Paige will have the funds to support her recovery and any medical treatment that she will need such as physiotherapy and counselling. It is also to ensure that my mom will be able to take the necessary time off of work. My mom is self employed and is not able to claim EI benefits. She is Paige’s main support and it is important that she can be available for the long healing journey ahead. The situation is quite urgent as my mom is not in the financial situation to take much more time off of work.

Update
Nov.19, 2018
After a strong fight, our dear Paige passed yesterday surrounded by love and family. The funds collected will go towards funeral arrangements and my moms healing journey ahead. Our family has been overwhelmed by the love and support we have received through this difficult time. Thank you to everyone who has donated. It has allowed our family to focus on supporting Paige and now celebrating her life.

Update #2:
We (Paige’s family) have received more support than we possibly could have imagined. The funds that have been donated exceed what we will need to cover the cost of funeral arrangements and my mom being able to support herself while she grieves. Paige was active in her church community and made it her mission to help those in need. As a family, we have decided that whatever money is not used for immediate expenses will be going towards a cause that Paige would have felt strongly about. Paige was active in missionary work and we would like to continue to spread the good that she has already set in motion. After we have had some time to grieve, we will be looking at specific organizations to donate to.

Update #3: Paige Nagata Memorial Fund
Nov.21, 2018
We (Paige’s family) have set up an memorial fund at MEI in Paige’s name for students wishing to participate in missions trips, but who cannot afford it. Paige made a lot of sacrifices to be able to take part in these trips as she did not come from a home that had that financial means to pay for them. Any money left over from the GoFundMe will be going to this fund. If you would like to donate directly, please do so using the form above.
