Ronald “Ron” Lorne Voth
NOVEMBER 9, 1950 – OCTOBER 12, 2020

Ron was born in Chilliwack BC to Jacob and Eva Voth and was the youngest of 3 boys. While attending MEI, Ron served as Student Council President and graduated with the Class of 1968.

He then completed post-graduate studies at BCIT with the highest standings, and went on to work in administration from 1971-1978. During this time, he married and was blessed with 3 daughters; Jennifer (Dyck, MEI Class of 1991), Carmen (Howe, MEI Class of 1994), and Leanne (MEI Class of 1997). They were the light of his life.

In 1981, Ron purchased a half interest in Clearbrook Realty Ltd. and was in partnership until 1993. In 1982, Ron had an AVM (brain bleed). God spared his life and blessed him with many more years. During this time, Ron lost his marriage and life was difficult. In 1992, however, he married Loraine Ratzlaff and gained two more children, Jason Ratzlaff (wife Pamela nee Voth, MEI Class of 1990) and Jana Ratzlaff (husband Marklin Voth, MEI Class of 1995). He loved his expanded family very deeply, later enjoying his 13 grandchildren.

Upon the passing of his brother Lyle (MEI Class of 1962) in 2002, Ron managed the family company, Voth Construction Co. Ltd. The family company was sold in 2006, at which time, Ron retired.

Ron’s faith remained resolute and unwavering. He ‘walked the talk’ to the very end. Ron, you will be missed in so many ways, but you have left your indelible mark in each of us. Thank you for your love. Until we meet again…
