On Saturday, June 27th, more than one third of the MEI graduates from 1985 (roughly 30 of 80) gathered at the Mount Lehman Hall to catch up, reminisce and share dinner together. Connie (Epp) Campbell organized the event (and cooked the fabulous meal) with the help of Grace (Loewen) Peters and Janice (Dyck) Friesen. The theme for the evening was tropical.

People mingled freely and spent their time renewing personal connections with old friends and finding out where life had taken each other with careers, relationships and families. Stories were shared of joys and triumphs and also of pain and struggle. Everyone seemed encouraged by the opportunity to see each other and hear highlights from the past thirty years.
Only one grad brought their spouse (not from the class) and one other brought a friend. Steve and Diane Janzen were in attendance and proudly clarified that they were the only married couple both from the grad class who actually dated in high school.
Many shared with each other about ongoing connections with those who were not in attendance. As well, many of those shared greetings and regrets on facebook (MEI 1985 Grad Reunion). In that way, the overall reach of the event went far beyond those in attendance.

Thanks to MEI for providing two door prizes, and thanks to Connie, Grace, Janice, Len and every one else who pitched in. It was a great success.
