The MEI Grads of 1977 celebrated their 40th grad reunion at Moxie’s Bar and Grill in Abbotsford on Saturday, July 15, 2017. It was a beautiful evening of sharing memories and getting caught up with each other after many years. Interact with the photos on Facebook.

Ken Falk welcomed the grads while reminding us of major world events which took place in 1977. After dinner, Walter Altenmueller and Ken Falk summarized the teacher memories which the grads submitted. Throughout the evening, grads were trying to complete a Guess Who Trivia worksheet to match their friends to an obscure activity they had engaged in. The highlight of the evening was Ray Harms-Wiebe’s talk, “Lessons Learned at MEI That Have Helped Us Through Life”. He reminded us of the significance of the biblical number of 40: preparing, waiting, testing. At the end of the evening, no one got up. The discussions continued for quite a while – a true sign of a successful reunion.

If you are planning to attend, please let MEI Grads 1977 Reunion know if you are interested. You can send the registrations and money to either Ken Falk or Walter Altenmueller in order to get a proper head count for the dinner. We have over 30 registered as of June 22. The absolute deadline is July 7, 2017!

Because the MEI facilities are undergoing renovations over the summer, the 2:30 p.m. Meet and Greet at MEI is cancelled. So we encourage all the grads of 1977 to come on time at 5:00 p.m. to Moxie’s Bar and Grill (32760 Simon Ave, Abbotsford). It is part of the Sandman Inn but will give us a much better space for our reunion. It is a one night, one place affair so don’t miss out. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Walter.
