On behalf of MEI SCHOOLS, I am pleased to announce the hiring of MARC BERGEN as the MEI Secondary School Vice Principal effective August 1st, 2018.  Marc was the unanimousrecommendation of the search committee and affirmed, also unanimously, by the MEI Board of Directors.

About Marc

Marc Bergen has been an English, Social Studies and Student Leadership Teacher at MEI Secondary since September 2016. He has also demonstrated leadership in serving on the MEI K-12 Character Committee as Chair, the MEI K-12 Pro-D Committee and as the teacher sponsor for the MEI Secondary Key Club. Marc participated in the MEI Teacher Leader Series last year successfully completing the course in spring of 2017.

Prior to coming to MEI, Marc was the Assistant Academic Principal (2014-2016) and Grades 11/12 Curriculum Coordinator at SPH Kemang Village in Jakarta, Indonesia. SPH (Sekolah Pelita Harapan) is a group of Christian private schools in Indonesia serving grades K–12. Among his roles at SPH, Marc served as an instructional coach, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Coordinator (2012-2016) and the curriculum coordinator for elective courses.

From 2002 to 2012, Marc served as a teacher and department head in various Abbotsford public schools. Marc has his Masters in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.

Interview Process

Marc was interviewed by the search committee on Monday, March 5th, 2018. He was found to be a confident educator with a passion for learning and a strong commitment to Christian Education.

In Conclusion

I’m excited to add Marc to the MEI Leadership Team in this role and look forward to serving with him at MEI Schools!
