The Grade 8 boys camp was a great success this year. The boys loved the weather, the water and the many ways that the message of kindness was shared. The boys spent their time doing graffiti art, swimming and water sliding, canoeing/kayaking, archery, gym games, team building games, outdoor sports, hiking to and viewing the beautiful Cascade Falls, enjoying our live chapel band, hearing some wise messages from our 5 speakers, and eating lots of great food (thanks to parents for sending goodies!) I think there were some tired boys on Monday night.
Grade 8 girls had the privilege of going to Kawkawa Camp in Hope for their overnight retreat. We stopped at Bridal Falls and Othello Tunnels on the way and marveled at the beauty of God’s creation. At the camp, we spent the afternoon doing crafts, team-building activities, and practicing riflery and archery. Mrs. Hein, Mrs. Benger, and Mrs. Fehr each shared with the girls along the themes of who we are as individuals, who we are in community, and about the importance of being firmly rooted and supported. We packed a lot into just over 24 hours!
MEI Middle staff were pleased to meet so many families last night. Thanks to our new families for joining us for dinner and thanks to all who came to learn about the changes to student assessment at our school. We are excited to work with you to provide the best learning experience for your son or daughter. Please keep the communication open, let us know if you see your student struggling and let us know if we can help with Schoology. It is an excellent communication tool on which we rely heavily. We look forward to your involvement at MEI Middle.
Library News – Next week we will be making Christmas themed quilling art for the bulletin board in the library.

MEI Middle School uses Schoology (www.schoology.com) as a Learning Management System. Parents and students have individual logins and have continual access to information regarding homework, assignments, due dates, class and school news. Schoology sends automated weekly updates if parents enable this feature.
This is a link to our school newsletters which is published every 8 weeks. Grade teams post monthly newsletters on Schoology, and the school posts announcements/regular updates on Schoology. Daily announcements scroll on the middle school website and can be found on the middle school Facebook page. Daily announcements overwrite the previous day’s announcements on the website. If one wants to look back on an announcement, Facebook is the place to go! Read more…
