MEI Middle participated in cleaning up litter in various parks and trails around the city today. The weather was a mixed bag of sun, showers and hail but that didn’t stop our students from doing a great job!
Over Spring Break, MEI Middle sent out their first ever mission’s team to the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver. The team consisted of 8 students and 4 leaders. They spent 6 days living on the streets and visited 8 different organizations. They were able to help prepare and serve meals, have tours of rehabilitation centers, sort clothes for clothing drives, go on walking tours to see the murals around the city, help out at thrift stores, team up with the maintenance staff, package candy bags to be given out to the women on the streets, and much more! This experience really opened students’ eyes to be able to see what it looks like to live life on mission and how they can serve those around them in tangible ways. God revealed Himself in magnificent ways on this trip and we are so thankful for the experiences the students were able to have!
