I have been at this school since kindergarten and it has played a huge part in my life and faith. MEI has truly been a gift to me. I have great friends, amazing teachers and have been blessed with the opportunity to be involved in many programs. Including athletics, missions, band, leadership and choir.
When I think about MEI, the first thing that comes to mind is community. This feeling is so strong and I cannot express enough how much I love that when I go to school, I can feel like I belong and have a place to not only learn, but grow as well.
This year I have the opportunity to go on a missions trip. I do not know where yet but I am very excited to experience serving with teachers and fellow students. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get to know students that I wouldn’t normally meet.
Although I have nothing to compare it to, I know and have experienced that the teachers strive to teach us to become critical thinkers and desire to help us in our learning experience. Throughout all of my years at MEI, I have noticed an amazing quality of learning and how the teachers do not just teach, but want to teach. I know that when I leave MEI I will be ready for what is to come.
Over the years, I have also had the opportunity to learn more about God and grow exponentially in my faith. With Bible classes, chapels and having devotions every day, there isn’t a time that God isn’t evident at MEI. This year, I am a part of a bible study that is able to meet in the mornings and I am ecstatic about the revival that has happened not only in my grade, but also in my entire school.
In grade 8, I had the chance to be taught by one of the most influential teachers I know. Mr. Knoll was a fantastic example of humility and joy. He showed me what it means to live a life for God and how to be a person of influence. Mr. Cooper is a role model to our entire school. He takes time out of his day to talk to students and call them by name. He is an amazing example to students and teachers alike with his humility in everything he does.
When I think of MEI, I think of a place where I can go to learn, not only about math, science, and English, but also learn more about God and all of the good works he is doing in my life. MEI has equipped me for life and forever, not only educationally but also spiritually.
