MEI Secondary VP to Return to Teaching

Mr. Rick Thiessen, the long-serving member of the MEI administration team, has made the decision to return to a teaching role at MEI Secondary effective September of 2018. You will read in Mr. Thiessen’s statement below that the heart behind his decision is to follow a passion to work more closely with students both academically and in the area of athletics.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Rick for the formal leadership he has provided to MEI Schools over the years. He has helped to lead through many seasons including some difficult ones and through it all continues to be seen as a man of God, a friend of students, and a passionate Eagle! I’m excited to work with Rick in his new role as Secondary Teacher and Athletic Director and pray that it will truly be a place of renewed energy, imagination, and creativity! I’ve asked Mr. Thiessen to help us build a campus team in the area of athletics and I’m confident that he will bring wisdom and integrity to this work.

Please pray for Mr. Thiessen as he transitions into this new role and for MEI Schools as we begin the process of determining who God has for us as the new secondary vice principal.

Message from Mr. Rick Thiessen

“After nearly 17 years in administration at MEI Secondary, I have decided to return to a teaching and Athletics Director role at the school. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as Vice Principal, experiencing many new and interesting challenges, but decided to return to the classroom which I love. I’m looking forward to working more directly with students on a daily basis, both in the classroom and in various athletics environments, hoping to continue to build relationships with students and see them thrive.”
