Grade 12 Student
MEI Secondary School
“I believe MEI is “equipping me for life and forever” because everyone in this world has been created by God to love, serve, glorify, and teach others about Him which is what MEI is all about.”
My name is Carter and I am currently in Grade 12 at MEI. I have attended MEI for 6 years since the start of grade 7 and I love it there. At MEI I get to worship God in many ways: through singing in chapel, to learning the bible by memorizing, studying, and discussing. We also get to pray. All of these things were unheard of and impossible at the public schools I went to. Switching to MEI changed my life because I can be who I am – love God and praise Him, all the while, doing it with your friends, which literally blew my mind. I thought, You can do all this at school, not just at church and your home?
Everyone at MEI is very welcoming and friendly, it is easy to make friends. I also have more friends that attend church regularly and go to youth activities, these events are important to me and I like it that my friends understand me.
A few of my highlights over the last few years was the grade 7 camp, the Alice in Wonderland play, and the grade 8 camp.
The teachers are also amazing. The classes have a Christian worldview in everything and they help develop the gifts that God has given each student. For me, an example would be art, thanks to my art teacher – Mr. Nickel. At public school there isn’t as much of an opportunity for fine arts.
At MEI there were many positive surprises when I came. First of all swearing is not encouraged or tolerated. It was a huge relief for me to know that I wasn’t going to school to hear garbage day in and day out. Second, there is less pressure to date at a young age compared to a public school.
I believe MEI is equipping me for life and forever because everyone in this world has been created by God to love, serve, glorify, and teach others about Him which is what MEI is all about.
